Rotary Global Scholar
Sep 08, 2022
The purpose of the Rotary Global Scholarship program is to further international understanding and peaceful relations among people of different races, nationalities, ethnicities, and religions while pursuing an approved program of graduate study at an institution of higher education in a foreign country. Ariel Dempsey is young physician from Grand Rapids, MI. She earned her MD at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and with the support of Rotary, she is now pursuing a PhD in Science and Religion at the University of Oxford. Through the Rotary Foundation Global Scholarship Program, she is running a Trauma Healing Program for refugees in Oxford. After the PhD she will return to clinical practice medical residency in Psychiatry with a fellowship in Palliative Care. Her aspiration is to become a Palliative Care physician walking alongside those at the end of life, and an academic theologian drawing on resources of religious traditions to reflect on healthcare and better serve those who suffer. Welcome to The Rotary Club of Ludington |
