Epworth General Manager and Rotary Club of Ludington board member Kim Hamm introduced Jim Rosborough, "Roz," "Coach," to the crowd of more than 60 club members and Epworth cottagers.

Acclaimed college basketball and tennis coach Jim Rosborough, an Epworth cottager, shared stories from his more than 50-year career during the annual club meeting at Epworth. He started by answering the question he fields most often -- who's tougher, men or women? Women, he answered quickly, noting women's tolerance for handling pain and overcoming adversity. Recruiting has changed through the years, and not all for good, he said. It used to be more about the relationships coaches formed and not as much about the money in college sports. He told cautionary tales about what troubles could come with increased betting on college sports, and evoked attendees' love for their own alma maters.

The Rotary Club of Ludington is accepting Proposals for a Local District Grant.

The Rotary Club of Ludington plays an important role in supporting local organizations that advance the public good, foster innovation, and address community needs. This Request for Proposal (RFP) aims to solicit applications from eligible entities seeking funding for sustainable projects and programs. Eligible entities do not include individuals, families or for-profit organizations. We prioritize projects that provide benefits beyond the year in which the grant is awarded, that demonstrate measurable outcomes, support one or more of our Areas of Focus, involve active participation by Rotary members, or are sponsored by a member of Rotary. We will not consider projects for the operating, administrative, or indirect program expenses of another organization.  Contact Bob Vipond for information.  Deadline: 8/28/26.
