Announcements:

  • Rotary at Night meetings start back up on October 1.
     
  • Our Club has chosen Power Bookbags to receive local District grant funds.
     
  • At a recent Board of Director's meeting, the Board approved the formation of a new bank account, Next Big Project, and provided seed funds of $10,000.00.  
     
  • Historical Society Gala, Saturday, September 26 at Stearns Hotel. Details/Tickets: Buy tickets – Mason County Historical Society 
     
  • October 3 - Walk to End Alzheimer's
     
  • Dan Sleeman announced that 16 STRIVE students and 16 mentors are confirmed.  Five of the mentors are Club members.  Dan noted that Patti is a great recruiter!

On behalf of the Holiday Auction Committee, Michelle King and Dale Horowski reviewed this year's timeline, event details, and auction platform.  Solicitation lists were distributed.  The Auction Committee is on FIRE!  They are a well-oiled machine.  More auction details below.

Rotary International President Yinka has encouraged clubs and districts to strengthen connections and try new approaches.
 
Taking President Yinka’s message to heart, our District Governor, Julie Schumaker, will be holding regional multi-club mixers. These events are a great way to meet with District Governor Julie in a relaxed, informal setting, learn what other clubs are doing, and build connections with Rotarians from nearby clubs.  This event replaces our annual Club visit with the DG.
 
Why Attend?
 
These gatherings are an opportunity to:
  • Meet and engage with District Governor Julie Schumaker in your local area.
  • Join fellow Rotarians, enjoy meaningful fellowship, and build camaraderie.
  • Build connections with Rotarians from neighboring clubs.
  • Share service and fundraising ideas between clubs.


Assistant Governor Jac Russell has scheduled a club mixer for 5 clubs on October 20, 2026, in Hart at the Oceana County Council for Aging from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. District Governor, Julie Schumaker will speak to us about the District. 

More details to come, but we would certainly like a strong showing from the Rotary Club of Ludington (the FUN Club!).

Auction Details

Timeline:

  • The Auction website will open 10/1/26
  • Forms for Auction items are due by 11/6/26
  • Online Auction opens for business on 11/20 at 8:00 a.m. and closes 12/2 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Auction Gala - 12/2 - Lincoln Hills
     

Reminders:

  • Each Auction item needs a form, with complete details about the item
  • Take items and forms to Greenridge Realty (across from Walgreens)
     

What you can do now:

  • Contact the donors on your list
  • Spread the word - we need bidders, attendees, etc.  Give blue cards to friends, businesses, bulletin boards, etc.  Share social media posts.
     

What you can do later:

  • Bottles of wine are needed for wine basket raffles.  You can bring to Club meetings or Greenridge.
  • Help is needed the day before and the day of the Auction.
  • Help is needed at the Auction.


Auction forms, solicitation letters and blue cards will be available at Club meetings and at Greenridge.
